Bible Reading: 1 Timothy 4:1-16
‘Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.’ (Verses 14-15)
I received a gift of a beautiful umbrella. It is so lovely, a pastel blue with colourful butterflies flying all over. It is fantastic when it rains; up goes my umbrella, out-come the butterflies and I always feel happy under it. Not only is it pretty to look at, I love the people who gave it to me so I always feel close to them when I use it. I just love using this gift.
God has given each of us at least one spiritual gift. Sometimes it can be hard to identify what your gift is, but once you have found it you should use it as often as possible, not just on rainy days. When you use the gift that He has given you to serve others, you are a blessing to them and are pleasing God.
Heavenly Father, thank you for your spiritual gifts. Please help each of us to know what our gift is and to get it out and use it often. Amen
