Part of our recent road trip was to Vermont which is north east of New York. We were staying in a cottage very close to a forest. The real estate agent told us that there had been a bear sighting so we should take care. As it was quite warm we slept with the window open.
In the morning we heard some scrambling around outside; I thought it must be a dog. Anyway, I looked out the window and there, about 10 metres from our window, were two big brown bears. They were snacking on something (or someone 😊) and having a lovely time.
It was great to see them in their natural habitat, but even greater that we were seeing them from a safe position. The house provided a barrier for our physical safety.
God provides a barrier too, one for our spiritual protection. When we stand beside God we are impervious. This week I am going to focus on being grateful for the spiritual protection that God gives us.
