I was ducking out to the supermarket, so packed the shopping bags and ‘other bits’ such as glasses and phone and set off. I noticed that the fuel level in the car was getting low – no problem, I would go to the service station on the way. Driving along on auto pilot, before I knew it, I had turned right to the supermarket instead of left to the petrol station. No problem, I would get the fuel on the way home. After parking at the shops, I noticed that the ‘other bits’ I had packed did not include my purse. Ugh – home again, grabbed my purse, ready for take two!
The point is, one has to be somewhat organised for things to run a bit smoothly. There is no value in going to the shops with no means of paying for anything, no point going to buy petrol and forgetting to turn at the right place. It makes being in a relationship with God look extremely easy – and it is. All you need is yourself and a heart to know him.
Heavenly Father, thank you for being so available for us. There is no need for us to make an appointment or bring anything special. You accept us and love it when we accept you. Amen
