During my days of social distancing I am really going to try to make each day work for me. I have created a check list of activities that I want to complete and have nominated, on a weekly basis the amount of time I intend to spend on each of them. Day 1, everything ticked off perfectly: time with God, violin practice, golf swing practice, 10,000 steps, a bit of poking around the garden and sound nutrition. Days 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 also not bad but enthusiasm definitely starting to wane by day 7.
It can be hard to stick to a plan, but we are not the only ones who have ever had to do it. Think about the plan that God had when he sent Jesus to earth. He knew the ending before it began but still went ahead with it; that would have been hard.
Our mission is much easier. What we need to do my friends is hang in there and use technology to stay connected. We need to value our faith and enjoy the everlasting hope that Easter Sunday brings to us. And lastly, keep up the hand washing and social distancing.
Heavenly Father, thank you for the sacrifice that you willingly made for us and for the joy that Easter Sunday brings. We know that you are close to us during the good times and the bad. Help us to feel your presence and turn to you for comfort.
