My friend and I were in the city the other day and decided to try out the new e-scooters. The cost is a per minute charge. We found some scooters and off we went – great fun no problems. We didn’t break any speed records, but nor did we break any bones. We reached our destination, parked, returned the helmets, and went on our way. After five minutes we both received a message on our phones, saying that the scooter had been inactive for five minutes – if it continued to be inactive for a further five minutes the system would end the trip. Oops, we had not ‘ended’ our trip. The experience was a bit more expensive than it needed to be.
We knew how to start and how to stop the scooters but were totally unaware of the need to ‘end the trip.’ Our fault entirely, the app is truly clear about what you have to do, we just didn’t read it very well. It would have been better if we had taken the time to understand the whole story.
Like the story of Jesus, how much richer is it when you know the ending? Knowing that he will return one day and that all shall see him completes the scriptures beautifully.
Lord, we thank you for your story and for the promises that are written in it. Amen
