I love my washing machine. It has a clear glass top and I can see the washing as it is being
jostled around the tub (don’t worry, I don’t watch it very often!). There is a little compartment
where the soap goes and when the water comes into the machine, it washes the soap powder
through a small grate into the tub.
The other day I was using a soap pod: liquid detergent stored in a dissolvable skin. When the water rushed
through the soap dispenser, the pod didn’t dissolve and therefore the soap didn’t flow into the machine.
Luckily, I did happen to be watching at that stage and it was easy to deal with. I just opened the soap dispenser
and popped the pod directly into the tub where it quickly dissolved and started making suds.
It showed me that even when things don’t start off exactly right, they can still work out to be OK. So, if we
have a grumpy start to the day, that doesn’t mean the whole day has to be horrid—things can still work out!
This week, let’s focus on making situations OK. Let us ask God to help us see a way out of our troubles.
