Jacqui’s Meditation
Squeaky Wheel
The squeaky wheel gets the oil, right? Well, as it happens, not always. I did a first aid course many years ago. The lecturer was talking about a car accident scenario. We were told that when assessing the victims, if one person was screaming but the other was very quiet, it was more important to see to the one who was quiet; the one screaming could obviously breath and whilst needing help it was not necessarily the first priority.
Spiritual health can be like the very quiet victim. Because it is not out there on display, it can slip under our radar. By the time you realise something is wrong you may be a fair way down the track. But do not despair, if you have neglected your spiritual health, it is very easy to remedy – far easier than prioritising crash victims! Pray to God and ask his Holy Spirit to be active in your life.
Lord, we thank you for your Holy Spirit and for the way it can change our lives. Amen
