One of the effects of COVID-19 thus far is three months of severely reduced social and work activity, coinciding with an increased uptake of around-the-home hobbies. Have you achieved something through the lock down? I have managed to propagate an African violet which is now 2 mm high 😊. The other person in our home has produced this – an old grey cement garden bench now beautifully mosaiced.
So much deliberation about the suitability of each tile has gone into every selection. Each tile thought about in context, texture, and thickness before it was selected to be cut, trimmed, and shaped to fit into each spot. Thousands of pieces of tile using a variety of shapes, colours and sizes representing hundreds of hours work. And the result – a very impressive, colourful, and beautiful seat top, I’m sure you’d agree.
In the same way, God selects and shapes us. We are all his creations and when we are open to him, he lovingly and patiently works to shape us to fit in with his perfect plan. I do not know about you, but I am a work in progress. And more good news – I know that God will not give up on me, but will faithfully lead me.
Lord you are the potter, we are the clay. Help us to be soft and pliable so that your will may be done. Amen
