JACQUI’S MEDITATION
Shhh
We have quite a few casuarina trees close to our place. They are fantastic tall evergreen trees with very fine leaves that look like pine needles. The thing I really love about them is the wonderful sound they make when the wind is whistling or whooshing through the limbs and leaves. Usually, I only hear it when other things are relatively quiet. If the washing machine is chugging away or the radio is on or any other normal household sounds are present, the evocative sound is left unheard and unacknowledged.
To take advantage of the music that comes from the trees, I must be still and tuned in to what I want to hear. The same can be said about listening for and to God. The best way to hear him is to mindfully seek him. Seek with an open heart and mind, tune in to what he wants to say to you.
Lord, you have told us to seek and we shall find, thank you for this encouraging information. Help us God to be loyal to our faith and to hold steadfast in times of trouble and doubt.
