I was driving to an unfamiliar address so engaged the services of my trusty electronic navigator. All was going well until we came to a road that had been blocked due to an accident. I had no choice but to turn right instead of forging straight ahead. ‘Turn back’ the navigator said. I ignored it. ‘Route re-calculation’ the navigator said. After a few seconds it resumed its useful service and 30 minutes later I arrived at my destination, not too far behind schedule.
Electronic navigation devices are an absolute gem, especially for people like me who find map reading a challenge. The devices are relatively easy to use and most times get you to where you want to be. Each of us also has an internal navigation device; it is called Holy Spirit. This spirit lives within and should be accessed to help with, you guessed it, our spiritual journey. We are blessed to have this resource right there with us at all times. A friend dedicated to us and willing us toward our Heavenly Father.
Lord you have gifted us with your Holy Spirit, and we thank you for the protection and guidance it offers us. Help us to allow the Spirit to guide us along the path that you have laid for us. Amen
