Rescue 1

We had a couple of days with friends on the coast of Queensland where they are both working members at the Volunteer Marine Rescue organisation. The group are responsible for helping sea faring vessels that are in trouble and/or providing medical evacuations for injured people on boats or Fraser Island. What rewarding work.

You can imagine the feeling of relief that those people who need help feel when they see Rescue 1 approach. Saved from their peril they really appreciate the volunteer run service. This has many similarities to the way that God works. He too saves people; he saves their souls and keeps them safe. We as Christians are volunteers in his group.
