You may remember a few months ago I wrote about a maiden hair fern that I had on our bookcase at home. When first bought, it was beautiful, but as time passed by it began to die, slowly but surely. One of the caring and generous green thumbs in our congregation offered to admit the plant to her plant hospital where it would be nurtured and cared for until a complete recovery had been made. An offer too good to refuse I am sure you will agree.
So, after a few months of TLC, today I brought my plant home again. It looks wonderful, lusher than ever, with plenty of new growth and, even better, no dead bits.
In just the same way that Sharon cared for the plant, God cares for us. If we allow him, he will refresh and renew us. He will shape us and guide us to be our best and help new growth to flourish. When you read God’s word and follow his path, you open yourself to his eternal mercy and grace.
