The Tuggeranong Parkway has varying speed limits. I was driving on a stretch that had a 90 km/h limit. And 90 (I’m fairly sure) is exactly how fast I was driving when I drove past a mobile speed camera. ‘Your speed has been checked’ displayed across the roof of the van and on either side of the sign was an 80 sign. ‘No!’ I shouted; the limit is 90’. I then had to start wondering whether the limit had changed (it hadn’t), whether I read the sign incorrectly (I hope so) or whether in fact the sign displayed on top of the van was incorrect (this would also work for me). Time will tell if I was in the wrong.
Feeling unsure is horrible. In our everyday lives, right and wrong are not always black and white. However, in our spiritual lives it is a different ball game. Whenever we are thinking, saying, or doing anything we simply need to ask ourselves if it is what God would want us to be thinking, saying, or doing. If the answer is yes, then great, keep on doing it, if not, well we know what to do.
Lord, you lived a blameless life and have have shown us the way to live our lives. We do not always follow your path and we ask that you forgive us when we fall short.
