Tuggeranong Good Shepherd Congregation, ACT
Where love comes to life
When: Sunday afternoon 16 October 2022
Where: Meet at 2:00pm at the intersection of Henry Melville Cres and Corbett Pl Gilmore. Please be considerate of residents and park along Henry Melville Cres. Look for a blue Commodore with kayak racks.
What: A walk along the old Goulburn-Bombala railway line that forms part of the ACT-NSW border. Visit the Tuggeranong siding and a misplaced ACT border marker. Walk to Melrose trig for views to the south of Canberra and through the Tuggeranong Pine Forest. Try your hand at the fun pastime of geocaching. Around 8km and 170 vertical metre climb. The rail line is, of course, flat. Allow 3 hours.
Bring: Wear closed-toed shoes/boots, warm/waterproof clothing suitable for the day and a hat. Bring some water and a snack for arvo tea in a back pack.
Here’s where we’ll go:
John Evans has been walking in the ACT region for 20 years. Bushwalking information is provided at Johnny Boy’s Walkabout Blog. He worships at Awaken Church Canberra South.
