After filling the car with petrol, I grabbed my purse and went in to pay for it. Oh, the sinking feeling as I stared at the space in my purse where my credit card normally is. I remembered that I had taken it out and moved it temporarily into another purse – extremely helpful memory, all a bit late! A quick look at my cash confirmed what I already knew – not nearly enough. Anyway, short story shorter, using the banking app on my phone I was able to transfer the necessary funds. I felt grateful that I had my phone and the necessary app.
It is easy enough to leave home without things we need, and that is where the Holy Spirit really comes into its own. The Spirit is part of you and as such, it travels where you do and there is never the risk of accidentally leaving it behind. Call on the Spirit, and the Spirit is there. This gift from God is eternal and one we can rely on time after time.
Lord, we thank you for your gift of your Holy Spirit, sent to guide us and enable us to live a righteous and faithful life. Amen
