I was out walking and saw a very beautifully made rock wall. There was no visible mortar between the rocks which seemed just to be layered on top of one another, all fitting nicely and snuggly together. The back of the wall, however, revealed a different story – it exposed plain concrete blocks, not nearly as attractive or clever as the front of the wall.
In a way it reminded me of humans. None of us are perfect. Our job is for our best aspects to be presented front and centre. We don’t have to be perfect to be beautiful and wonderful beings. Let’s just try to be our best – in terms of our behaviour, that is all God wants.
Lord thank you for accepting our imperfections. Help us to strive to be the people you want us to be. Amen
