When we had our first daughter in 1984, microwave ovens had just started to become a regular part of a suburban kitchen. I can remember our first one was huge and cost around $700 – quite a sum for those days. Well what a long way technology has come since then.
The electronic things that surround our new granddaughter are many and varied, smaller and smarter, and definitely a lot cheaper. You can buy a baby bath with a thermometer and scales built-in, a Wi-Fi baby monitor, soft toys that produce white noise to encourage sleep; the list seems endless and the ideas and designs very clever.
But in thinking about how far we have come with our inventions, we should also think about how amazing the design of the baby itself is. Sticking with the original design, its Creator has not seen the need to make any changes and yet it is still in step with the times.
Lord we thank you for your wonderful creations and pray that we will always look after and cherish them.
