Although not a fan of Master Chef I do seem to find myself watching it quite often 😊.The other night was an elimination round, which means that one of the contestants would be leaving at the end of that night’s show.
There were four hopefuls, each determined that their dish would not be the worst. One of the contestants had at an earlier time won an immunity pin. This pin gave her a free pass from the elimination round which she could claim at any time right up until the allotted cooking time was up. Even though she struggled during the process of preparing her dish, she did not play her pin. She wanted to save it for an even tougher situation.
She thought she was good enough without the pin (she wasn’t). She thought the flavours of her dish would see her through (they didn’t) and she thought that at least one of the other cooks would have run into more strife than she (none of them did) – her dish was the worst, she had to go. The way she held onto her pin, made it valueless.
We all have an immunity pin that will save us should we choose to use it. God has promised us a free pass and regardless of any other element of our lives, when we accept him and confess our sins, we are home free. Our pin is re-usable and can get us out of trouble that is a whole lot deeper than cooking badly on a given day.
