A note from Cheryl, our Community Development Coordinator
Community Garden – As mentioned last eNews the Floriade bulbs have been planted and tomorrow (30/6) the annuals will be picked up and we have organised a special planting session starting from 10am on Thursday. If you have a spare hour we would love to see you as many hands make light work.
Ladies Connect – After a few years of overseeing the Ladies Connect I have handed over the reigns to a new team of Jacqui, Rhonda and Janelle and I would like to thank these ladies for taking on this role. I have really loved being a part of this group and during out time we have had some great fellowship times and put together many food hampers, goody bags etc. Elsewhere in this eNews are dates set for the rest of the year activities.
David Smith MP. Paul and I recently had the pleasure of meeting David (pictured left) and his staff at their Tuggeranong Office. It was a good opportunity to hear what David
and team are doing for the electorate of Bean(which we are located in) and we shared some of the activities we are doing and plan to undertake. Paul and I both felt very encouraged by our meeting. On behalf of our Church Community I will be dropping off a small goodies hamper as an ‘encouragement and thank you’ to David and the team for their hard work in our electorate.
LDK Meeting – Also recently Paul and I met with Michelle Bennett the Manager of LDK. They are very appreciative of the support we give and our commitment to the weekly Thursday Worship Services. The local Catholic church also hold Worship
Services once a month. We talked about other ways we could engage with the Community there and Michelle was very supportive to hear some of our ideas. We will keep you posted in this area. Please pray for the residents there, particularly those who worship with us as some are very unwell at the moment.
