A note from Cheryl, Community Development Coordinator
Happy New Year Good Shepherd Members and friends
The Community Garden kept going over Christmas/New year as the plants needing watering and those pesky weeds needed removing. During this time we had a weekly regular attendance of 6 people and once school resumes we hope this number will increase. We may even have a small group of children from Caroline Chisholm come and join us as a project for them, we will be working with the school re logistics of this. We are picking lots of produce now – zucchinis, beans, cucumbers, herbs and we are waiting for the tomatoes to ripen
Bread Night also continued over Christmas/New year and we have our regulars who come each week plus with so many people in isolation with COVID we are doing ‘Bread Drops’ to these people and include veggies from our Community Garden.
Last week we held a Craft morning which was a lovely morning and this will continue on Wednesday mornings (fortnightly). See separate note in enews re this.
LDK Services – unfortunately we have only held one Worship Service this year due to their restrictions. We miss meeting with these folk and I know they miss us too. Some are coming to our Sunday Services however most feel content just to stay on site and keep contact to a minimum. We do keep in contact with regular phone calls. If you would like to write a note or think of something else we can give them I would love to hear from you.
Back to School packs – we have the opportunity to put together some school bags/packs to give to the local schools. If this is something you would be keen to assist with please talk to Narelle or myself or contact the office. Phone 02) 62925630 or email office@mygoodshepherd.org.au
