Holy Communion Gathering Plan
Oct – Nov 2021 as COVID lockdown restrictions ease
We anticipate that lockdown will be lifted on 15 October. At this time places of worship will be able to operate with a capacity of 25 people or a density of 1 per 4 sqm, whichever is less. Here at Good Shepherd Community Church, we are able to have 25 people meet in the Worship Centre.
While the worship service itself will still be on Zoom, we are introducing a short, in-person Holy Communion gathering as a brief extension of the online worship service. We expect to offer this starting Sunday 17 October if the current projections for eased restrictions eventuate unaltered.
-
If you would like to attend a Holy Communion gathering, please book in via RSVP Church at https://rsvp.church/r/6uwIIrwK
- If you are unable to register online, please phone Jacqui on 0410 644 838 who will be managing registrations.
In alignment with ACT Health directions please do not attend the service if you are unwell, are awaiting a COVID test result or have been directed to quarantine. This also applies to those scheduled to assist with the gathering, in which case they should arrange to swap with someone on the roster to fill in their spot.
Please don’t forgot to wear your mask and bring your phone (for check-in purposes) to the Holy Communion gathering.
1. On arrival at the church, you will be asked to sign in using the Check In CBR app, sanitise your hands, pick up your pre-packaged Holy Communion juice and wafer and ensure that the steward ticks your name off on the registration list.
Please note that only 9 people at a minimum of 1.5 m social distancing are able to congregate in the foyer. If the foyer is full, please wait outside until space is available.
- [STEWARDS: Door steward to sit behind table and wear gloves and a mask – please monitor check in activities, tick people off the list, manage compliance with social distancing and ensure that both church limit (25 people) and foyer limit (9 people) are not exceeded]
2. On entry into the church please only sit with people from your household and wear your mask except when partaking in Holy Communion. The disabled toilet is available for use if needed. Please use the provided Glen 20 to sanitise the area following use.
- [STEWARDS: Where possible direct people to fill seats from front to back no fans or heaters are to be used please. Monitor foyer during gathering to check in late-comers]
3. On completion of the service please exit via the side door into the garden (weather permitting) and dispose of your Holy Communion packaging in the bin at the door. When outside please continue to maintain all COVID safe practices including social distance.
- [STEWARDS: If there is bad weather people can exit via the foyer while maintaining social distance. All touched surfaces are to be disinfected using 70% alcohol or correctly diluted hospital grade disinfectant, while wearing a mask]
Adherence with this information will help keep our community safe and ensure compliance with our COVID safe plan.
