A note from Cheryl, our Community Development Coordinator
What a lovely visit we had today with David Smith MP – Member for Bean and his staff, Brendan and Mel. We had a very, very informal opening of the Kitchen followed by morning tea. I was able to thank David for his support and the opportunity we had to apply for the funding through the Government Grants. Also once again a huge thank you to Hans and team for their labour input into putting this kitchen together.
Whilst here David spoke to Judy and members of the Community Garden Team and got to see what was growing and get a wiff of the freshly laid horse manure.
David and team also took the time to check out the Food Pantry and were encouraging of the fact we have this available for the community as needed. They will endeavour to connect us with other Food Pantry organisations so we can network together and source means of donations or funding.
Finally, thank you to everyone who helped set up for today and made the very yummy food.
