A note from Cheryl, Community Development Co-ordinator
Once again we have been fortunate enough to receive a Grant during
Mental Health Month to host a Caring for the Carers Event. Unfortunately with COVID restrictions we have been unable to meet face to face in October but hope to host a Garden Tea Party in our Community Garden in November
We received this email today from one of the recipients –
“Dear all at Good Shepherd, I just want to say a big thankyou for the lovely care package which was left today. It is greatly appreciated, and as well as the special gifts, the ideas and information for managing mental health are also useful. I care for my three-year-old granddaughter full-time, so this thoughtfulness means a lot to me. All the best to the special volunteers at Good Shepherd, and l hope that life becomes a little easier for all, as Covid restrictions gradually ease. ” Libby
Over the past few weeks we have enjoyed the Floriade Garden display. The tulips have now finished but the pansies continue to flourish, however our garden does need a little TLC. If you have time to de-head the tulips and do some weeding that would be much appreciated.
I am also after 1 or 2 volunteers who are free on a Tuesday morning please to assist me with packing Food Hampers. At the moment we are supporting three families from Caroline Chisholm who are in quarantine with COVID, plus other families in the Community.
I have also included some photos of our regular visitors in the garden.
