About Us
We are a modern church with traditional Lutheran roots. Our worship services are relaxed with modern music. Rather than wearing a robe, our pastor normally leads worship in regular clothes, seeking to meet people where they are. Congregational members are involved in leading various parts of the service such as music, Bible readings, prayers and dramas.
Coming together for worship is a key part of our congregation’s life. Sunday worship focuses us on our creator and his word, on each other and on our ministries to others. Worship refreshes and renews us for the coming week and strengthens us in serving others in the community and sharing God’s message with them. We strive for our worship services to be open and inclusive, particularly for young people and newcomers. God has blessed us to be a blessing to others.
Good Shepherd Community Church Tuggeranong is a congregation of the Lutheran Church of Australia and New Zealand (LCA/NZ) in its NSW and ACT District. As Christians who identify with the Lutheran family of believers, we believe that we are saved 'by grace, for Christ's sake, through faith'. In other words, there is nothing we can do to earn God's favour or to gain eternal life. Through his death and resurrection, Jesus Christ has won all this and more for us. We also believe that the Bible is God's Word and is therefore the sole source of inspiration and teaching. In the power of the Holy Spirit together with sound interpretation of the Bible, we live our lives in joyful service for God's Kingdom because we are saved in Christ, not to get saved by our effort. That is seriously good news!
